Nigeria midfielder Salem Adeyemi returns to Zebbug Rangers after spell without a club

Nigeria midfielder Salem Adeyemi has joined Zebbug Rangers after a spell without a club, returning to the Maltese side on 15 September 2026.

The 21-year-old midfielder has signed a contract running until 30 June 2027. No transfer fee has been disclosed for the move.

Adeyemi previously represented Zebbug Rangers during the 2024-25 season, having joined from FC Swieqi United on a free transfer in August 2024. He left the club at the end of that campaign and was without a club from 1 July 2025 until completing his return.

His latest move takes him back to a club competing in Malta’s Challenge League. Adeyemi has already recorded appearances in the competition, featuring five times in both the regular Challenge League campaign and its finals.

He also played twice in the Maltese FA Trophy during his previous spell with Zebbug Rangers, scoring once. Those appearances form the most recent competitive record associated with his time at the club.

Adeyemi began his recorded senior career with Nigerian side Ilaji FC before moving to Malta in July 2024. He joined FC Swieqi United from Ilaji FC on a free transfer and moved on to Zebbug Rangers the following month.

The midfielder’s return gives him another opportunity to continue his career in Malta after spending the previous year outside club football. His contract places him at Zebbug Rangers through the end of June 2027.

Adeyemi has now completed his return to Zebbug Rangers on a deal ending 30 June 2027.
