Nigeria midfielder Alex Iwobi set sights on AFCON 2025 title
Nigeria international Alex Iwobi has tipped the Super Eagles to annex the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title in Morocco.
The 35th edition of the continental showpiece has been scheduled to run from December 21, 2025 through to January 18, 2025, with 24 countries set to battle it out for the trophy in Morocco.
Iwobi, who plies his trade for Fulham has thrown his weight behind the Super Eagles to secure the title this time, having missed out on the previous edition to Ivory Coast.
“I’m going to manifest, and I’m going to say Nigeria are going to win.” He said while expressing confidence on his outfit.
Nigeria currently has eleven players in camp, marking steady progress in the team’s buildup ahead of upcoming engagements.
The Super Eagles awaits additional 12 players on Monday, December 15, as preparations intensify for the much-anticipated AFCON 2025.
The West African football heavyweights will compete in Group C, where they face Tanzania, Tunisia, and Uganda. Nigeria will open their account at the continental mundial against Tanzania on December 23, 2025.
