The Nigeria Women’s Football League officially banned female homosexuality in Nigerian football. Dilichukwu Onyedinma, President of the league and a member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), announced the ban after an annual general meeting of the executive committee. According to Onyedinma, any player caught or associated with such acts will be excluded from the team, making it impossible to represent Nigeria in a tournament. The NFF board expressed readiness to collaborate with other organizations and clubs to eliminate such practices. Some civil servants associated with the NFF were reported to advocate for the ban on lesbianism from the women’s team.
