Nigeria international Christantus Uche has been left out of Crystal Palace F.C.’s 24-man squad for the knockout stages of the UEFA Europa Conference League, denting the 22-year-old’s hopes of featuring in Europe this season.
The young forward, currently on loan from Getafe CF, was omitted as Palace opted to register their recent acquisitions—Brennan Johnson, Jørgen Strand Larsen, and Evann Guessand—ahead of the next phase of the continental competition.
Uche’s season with the Eagles has been hampered by limited opportunities under manager Oliver Glasner, with most of his appearances coming off the bench. Despite showing glimpses of his potential, including a solitary goal in four Conference League outings, the forward has struggled to cement a regular spot in the squad.
The decision to leave him out of the European roster underscores the challenge Uche faces in breaking into Palace’s first team, especially as the club looks to balance domestic and continental commitments with a strengthened squad. With his future in the knockout rounds now uncertain, attention will turn to how the loaned striker adapts and whether he can make an impact in the Premier League fixtures to come.
