Nigeria forward Christantus Uche is growing frustrated over lack of playing opportunities since joining Crystal Palace.

The 22-year-old forward, on loan from Spanish outfit, Getafe has made one start in nine appearances across all competitions, totaling only 124 minutes for Palace, undermining a potential permanent acquisition.

As stipulated in the loan agreement, the Premier League club would only secure the services of the Nigerian international on a permanent deal after 10 starts, but Uche remains on the bench.

The lack of playing time is a major setback compared to his strong 2023/24 season and his Super Eagles debut in June. Despite being named in Nigeria’s 55-man provisional list, his spot in the final squad remains at risk.

Feeling the weight of the situation, Uche wrote on Instagram: “It hurts when you go through something that kills you inside but you have to act like it doesn’t bother you at all…”

FIFA rules restrict Uche from joining a third club this season, meaning his only escape is a January return to Getafe if the loan allows it. For now, he remains caught between limited minutes, blocked transfer options, and slipping AFCON hopes.
