“Worst day of my life,” Bright Dike expressed on his Twitter account.
The Nigerian striker, currently playing for Toronto, suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon, ruling him out of contention for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
According to reports from mlssoccer.com, Dike sustained the injury during a training session with the Canadian franchise.
Despite his recent call-up by coach Stephen Keshi for the friendly match against Mexico on March 5, Dike’s injury will keep him sidelined for the foreseeable future, including the World Cup.
