Nigeria defender Collins Nwoburuoke joins South African outfit Durban City
South African outfit Durban City have completed the signing of Nigerian defender Collins Nwoburuoke following an impressive trials.
The 23-year-old was available on a free transfer following his departure from Nigerian outfit Abia Warriors.
Nwoburuoke initially underwent trails at Orlando Pirates, but failed to impress officials, prompting the club’s decision not to sign the defender.
However, the enterprising defender swiftly moved to Durban City and managed to impress the officials, earning him a move to the club.
In an interview, the defender’s agent, Mike Makaab confirmed his move to Durban City, while he awaits his work permit to officially commence business.
“Collins Nwoburuoke has completed a move to Durban City. He is a player who has a lot of potential, and he will definitely play a role in the PSL,” Makaab told FARPost.
“He signed with Durban City just before the closure of the transfer window, and he’s just waiting for his papers for everything to be complete,”
With his wealth of experibcee, he is expected to play a huge role for Durban City, who are poised to make impact this season.
Currently, Durban City find themselves in the fifth position on the South African Premier League standings.
