Nigeria coach Eric Chelle has set sights on securing the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title in Morocco.

The 35th edition of the continental showpiece, to be held in the North African country has been scheduled to take place between December 2025 and January 2026, with several football powerhouses including defending champions Ivory Coast, Senegal, Egypt and hosts Morocco set to battle it out for the prestigious trophy.

Chelle, who led Mali to the quarter-finals in the last tournament has reiterated his desire to guide the Super Eagles to AFCON glory this time.

Considering his rich experience and a formidable squad, Chelle is undoubtedly confident his side can end their 12-year wait for continental glory.

“Of course we want to win it. Personally, I want to win AFCON… I think Morocco will be a great tournament, too. The players feel the same. Since March we’ve played every match under pressure…

“But there are big teams: Morocco are favourites, Tunisia, Côte d’Ivoire… nations in top form. Our strength is that the players have suffered, then found a way through. That can really hurt opponents.”

The Super Eagles of Nigeria has been paired in Group C against Tanzania, Tunisia and Uganda.
