Nigeria international Alex Iwobi is undoubtedly confident about his outfit chances of winning the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title.

The 35th edition of the continental showpiece has been scheduled to run from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026 in Morocco, with 24 countries set to battle for the covetous trophy in the North African nation.

However, Iwobi, who plies his trade for Fulham has reflected on the Super Eagles narrow AFCON title miss in Ivory Coast, while setting sights on the title in the upcoming tournament.

“We were really close last AFCON, but the only way we can improve on the last AFCON is to win it,” he said. “We have the players to do it, we believe we can, we just have to prove it.” He told AySuga Channel.

Nigeria finished as runners-up in the last AFCON, held in Ivory Coast after falling 2–1 to the Elephants in a tightly contested final.

The Super Eagles are paired in Group C against Tanzania, Tunisia and Uganda at the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.

The three-rime AFCON holders will open their AFCON account against Tanzania on December 23, 2025 in Morocco.
