Kano Pillars retained their title as Nigerian champions by finishing on top of the Nigerian Elite National Championship after the 38th and final day of the season. Despite a 0-2 defeat to Lobi Stars, Kano Pillars secured the championship with 63 points, edging out Enyimba FC, who finished with 62 points. This marks Kano Pillars’ fourth Nigerian championship title, having previously won in 2008, 2009, and 2012. The team won 20 out of the 38 matches played and scored 46 goals. Relegated teams include Bukolora Saraki, Kwara United, Wikki Tourists, and Shooting Stars.
