Nicolas Jackson’s Bayern future ends as permanent deal falls through
Nicolas Jackson and his camp had expected his stay at Bayern Munich to extend beyond the current season, but the move will not be made permanent.
Bayern sporting director Max Eberl confirmed over the weekend that the club has decided against signing the striker on a full transfer from Chelsea FC, bringing an end to speculation surrounding his future in Munich.
According to reports from The Athletic, the Senegalese striker and his entourage had been optimistic that a deal could be reached, even if it required renegotiating financial terms with Chelsea.
However, the Premier League club maintained a high valuation of the player, reportedly around £60 million, which ultimately proved to be a stumbling block.
During his time in Germany, Jackson largely fulfilled his role as a backup striker, providing depth behind Harry Kane and contributing when called upon. Despite this, Bayern were unwilling to meet the asking price, believed to be in the region of €65 million.
The decision now leaves Bayern searching for an alternative option to support Kane in attack—a task that may prove challenging, given the difficulty of finding a high-quality striker willing to accept a secondary role.
For Jackson, attention will now turn to his next move, with his future once again tied to Chelsea as the summer transfer window approaches.
