Nicolas Jackson sees red in Bayern Munich's clash with Bayer Leverkusen

Nicolas Jackson’s audition as Harry Kane’s stand‑in hit a painful low as he was sent off in Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga game against Bayer Leverkusen.

Making his third consecutive start up front since Kane suffered a calf injury, the Senegalese striker lasted just 42 minutes before seeing a straight red for a reckless challenge, leaving Bayern a man down before half-time.

At the moment of his dismissal, Bayern were already trailing 1–0, turning an already difficult evening into an uphill battle. The red card abruptly halted what had been a promising mini-run for Jackson, who had delivered 2 goals and 1 assist across his first two starts in place of the England captain.

Despite limited minutes overall this season, Jackson’s loan spell in Munich has been fairly productive, with 7 goals and 3 assists in 25 appearances in all competitions. However, his dismissal in Leverkusen adds another entry to a growing disciplinary file that previously included reds during his time at Chelsea, notably against Newcastle and Flamengo.

With Kane still sidelined, Bayern must now cope without Jackson for at least one match through suspension, putting even more strain on their attacking options at a crucial point in the campaign.
