Nicolas Jackson scored his first Premier League goal for Aston Villa as they secured their first league victory of the season with a 3-2 win away to Tottenham on Saturday, 19 September.
The Senegal international struck in the 67th minute on his team’s visit to Tottenham in the fifth round of the Premier League, putting Aston Villa 2-1 ahead with an impressive finish.
Jackson had opened his Aston Villa account only a few days earlier, scoring in the club’s 3-2 Champions League victory over Club Brugge. He followed that effort with another important goal at Tottenham to help secure all three points.
The 3-2 result represented Aston Villa’s first win in the English top flight this season. Jackson, formerly of Chelsea, now has two goals in six appearances in all competitions for his new club.
Aston Villa’s next Premier League fixture will come in the sixth round of the competition against Brentford. The published match prices list Aston Villa at 2.30 to win, with a draw at 3.20 and a Brentford victory at 2.60.
