Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has expressed his admiration for Nicolas Jackson, commending the Senegalese striker’s performance in their 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
The 23-year-old forward displayed his trademark energy and aggression leading the line for the Blues but missed key opportunities to secure a win for his team.
Reflecting on Jackson’s showing, Maresca told Football.London: “For a striker, sometimes all the chances they score and sometimes they have chances and don’t score.
“The important thing is Nico today had two or three clear chances – so he is there, he is ready and hopefully next time he can be a little bit more lucky but overall, I think Nico did a good game today,” he added.
Jackson has netted 10 goals across all competitions this season.
He’ll be eager to return to the scoresheet when Chelsea face Morecambe F.C. in the 3rd Round of the FA Cup, followed by a Premier League clash against A.F.C. Bournemouth.
