Anelka expressed his support for Dieudonné, a comedian with whom he has a close relationship, stating, “He was a friend, he has become a brother today!” Anelka defended Dieudonné against accusations of racism and anti-Semitism, emphasizing that he views Dieudonné as a comedian rather than a politician.
Anelka rejected any suggestion of racism or anti-Semitism in his own history, stating, “I have no racist or anti-Semitic history, so no proof, or even the suspicion of proof!” He also criticized what he perceived as paranoia and warlike attitudes in society.
