Athletic Club’s rising star Nico Williams has set his sights on greater achievements, both on and off the pitch.
The Spanish-Ghanaian winger believes he has “the right conditions to be a better footballer” and aims to elevate his game by scoring more goals and delivering decisive assists.
Speaking to FIFA, the youngest of the Williams brothers revealed his ambition to win the 2026 World Cup, adding to an already impressive resume that includes the Copa del Rey with Athletic Club and the European Championship with Spain.
“I’m very ambitious. I want to win more,” Nico shared, reflecting on his hunger for success. On a personal level, he credits Joseba Etxeberria—his former reserve team coach and current SD Eibar manager—for instilling the drive to improve his finishing.
“I need to be more decisive in front of goal. That’s what I’m working on, and I believe it will make a huge difference in my career,” he said.
With his sights set high, Nico Williams is determined to unlock his full potential and leave an indelible mark on the football world.
