Nico Williams eager to join FC Barcelona this summer – Deco confirms

Barcelona Sporting Director Deco has disclosed that Spanish forward of Ghanaian descent, Nico Williams, is eager to make the move to the La Liga champions this summer.

The 22-year-old Athletic Club star is attracting interest from several top European clubs, including Arsenal and Bayern Munich, and is open to leaving his current side.

However, Williams has set his sights on joining Barcelona.

Deco revealed that Barcelona are actively working to secure a deal, saying in an interview with La Vanguardia, “Yes, Nico Williams wants to come… and we will try. Nico, same as other players, is showing a strong desire to come… and if the right conditions are met in his case, we’ll definitely try to complete the deal.”

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich have made a fresh attempt to lure the talented forward. The Bundesliga champions have submitted an improved offer to Athletic Club within the past 24 hours, increasing their salary proposal and offering Williams €2 million in annual bonuses should he agree to the move.

Although the improved bid from Bayern Munich is enticing, Barcelona continue to lead the race for the signature of Nico Williams.
