Nicholas Eyeh: Italy-Nigeria defender joins Caldiero on free transfer

Italy-Nigeria centre-back Nicholas Eyeh has joined Serie D side Caldiero on a free transfer from Modena U19. The 18-year-old has signed a deal running until 30 June 2027 with the club from Caldiero Terme.

Eyeh, a right-footed defender, steps into senior football after progressing through youth systems in northern Italy. He arrives from Modena’s Under-19 squad, where he spent the 2025-26 season following a move from Verona’s Under-18 team.

Before his spell at Modena, Eyeh came through the ranks at Hellas Verona, advancing from their youth set-up into the Under-17 side and later into Verona U18. Across his time in Under-17 and Under-18 competitions, he made more than 40 appearances, including 38 matches and three goals in the Under 17 – B league, building experience at national youth level.

Caldiero, who compete in Serie D – B, have secured Eyeh on a permanent basis, tying the dual-nationality defender to the club for the 2026-27 season.
