Florian Maurice, the sports chief of Ligue 1 side Nice, has admitted the club is unlikely to secure the services of French midfielder Paul Pogba.
Speaking on the matter, Maurice acknowledged that the former Manchester United star will attract significant interest from top clubs when he becomes eligible to play again.
Pogba, who was released by Juventus last month, is preparing for a potential return to action in March after his four-year doping ban was reduced to 18 months on appeal.
The 2018 World Cup winner has already begun training to regain match fitness, fueling speculation about his next move.
Addressing Nice’s chances of signing Pogba, Maurice said: “Honestly, I don’t think we have the chance to bring Paul Pogba to Nice today. I think there are a lot of clubs who will look into this issue, even if it’s been a while since he last played. I think there will be huge competition at this level.”
Sources close to Africasoccer.com suggest Paul Pogba is determined to make a strong comeback, with hopes of landing a high-profile move once his suspension ends.
