OGC Nice have set sights on securing the services of Franco-Gambian midfielder Mahdi Camara in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The French outfit were exposed in their Champions League qualifying match against Portuguese giants SL Benfica. Nice succumbed to a 2-0 home defeat in the first leg last week and now risk of suffering elimination from the competition.
However, the French club has swiftly entered the market in an attempt to secure the services of Camara, who plies his trade for Stade Brest to bolster their squad, having fell short to Benfica in midfield battle.
Nice are reportedly pushing to get the deal done as soon as possible, with Brest holding on to €8m transfer fee.
The Franco-Cameroonian midfielder has been heavily linked with an exit from Brest this summer, attracting significant interest from clubs in the United States and Russia.
Camara has been a key part of Brest squad since he joined in the summer of 2022 from boyhood club AS Saint-Étienne.
Last season, he was able to experience the UEFA Champions League for the first time with Les Pirates, helping the club to reach the playoff rounds, where they were eliminated by eventual champions Paris Saint-Germain.
