Nice explore move for Genoa’s France-Mali defender Mamedi Doucoure
France-Mali centre-back Mamedi Doucoure, currently with Genoa, has been linked with a move to Nice.
The 19-year-old defender is being mentioned as a potential target for the Ligue 1 club after moving into Genoa’s senior squad from their Under-20 side on 1 July 2026.
Doucoure joined Genoa’s youth set-up from Verona Under-20 in August 2024, in a move reported at €60,000. He has since progressed through the club’s age-group teams and made one Serie A appearance, playing eight minutes.
The right-footed centre-back also made 34 appearances in Primavera 1, providing four assists. His youth career at Genoa included a Viareggio Cup triumph with the club’s Under-18 team in the 2024-25 season.
Doucoure’s current market value is listed at €400,000, although no transfer fee has been reported in connection with Nice’s interest. The available details do not indicate whether the French club has made a formal offer or whether negotiations have begun.
Nice are seeking to assess the defender’s availability as he starts his first campaign with Genoa’s senior group. Doucoure is currently registered as a Genoa player and has no recorded contract expiry date.
