Nice secured their first Ligue 1 victory of the season by beating Lille 2-1 in the fifth round of the competition.
Egypt international Mohamed Abdelmonem played the full match for Nice and made his fourth consecutive start. He was booked in the fifth minute.
Lille took the lead through an own goal by Nathan Ngoy in the 22nd minute, but Nice levelled the contest before half-time.
Mohamed Amoura put Nice ahead in the 67th minute with a finish from inside the penalty area.
Lille reduced the deficit in the 79th minute when Japan forward Ayase Ueda scored with a shot from inside the box, but Nice held on to claim all three points.
The result was Lille’s first defeat in Ligue 1 this season. Under Davide Ancelotti, they had won three matches and drawn one before losing to Nice.
Nice moved up to five points and 14th place in the table, while Lille remain on 10 points in fourth.
