Hatem Ben Arfa Set to Join OGC Nice After Hull City Fallout
After a disappointing stint at Hull City, Hatem Ben Arfa appears to have found a new destination. According to Nice-Matin, the former French international has verbally agreed to join OGC Nice once the winter transfer window opens on January 4.
Ben Arfa, on loan from Newcastle United, failed to impress Steve Bruce at Hull (5 starts, 0 goals) and has been sidelined in recent weeks. Eager to revive his career, the attacking midfielder was initially targeting a move to Spain, but has now opted for a return to Ligue 1.
Nice must now finalize contract termination negotiations with Newcastle, as Ben Arfa’s current deal runs until June 2015. The move to the Côte d’Azur offers a fresh start for the talented yet often controversial playmaker.
