FC Barcelona is under scrutiny from Spanish justice over allegations of providing false information regarding the transfer amount for Neymar. The initial reported figure for Neymar’s transfer in June 2013 was 57 million euros, but investigations by Mundo Deportivo suggest that the actual amount may be 95 million euros.
According to the Spanish newspaper, various hidden sums are detailed in the contracts, including commissions of €8.5 million paid to the player’s family, €9 million to Santos for organizing two friendly matches against Barcelona, and €10 million as a signing bonus. If accurate, this would make Neymar the most expensive player globally, surpassing the reported amounts for Cristiano Ronaldo (94 million euros) and Gareth Bale (91 million euros), both of Real Madrid.
In response to these allegations, FC Barcelona has scheduled a press conference for Monday, where President Sandro Rosell is expected to address the matter. The club faces increased scrutiny over the transparency of Neymar’s transfer deal.
