Newly promoted South African Premier League outfit Durban City have reached an agreement with Gavin Hunt to take charge of the team.
Durban City, having secured promotion to the Premiership following a successful campaign in South Africa’s second division, have opted to make a change at the helm.
With the new season fast approaching, the club has settled on the experienced tactician to lead the Durban-based club next season as they seek to make a meaningful impact.
Durban City will in the coming days announce the appointment of Gavin Hunt before he beginning preparation with the team for the campaign.
Currently, there is a verbal agreement between Durban City and the highly-rated coach.
Hunt, a four-time Premiership champion—three titles with SuperSport United and one with Bidvest Wits—now embarks on a new challenge, aiming to transform City into a competitive force.
As previously reported, the new league season is set to kick off on August 8, 2025, while the MTN8 will begin on August 1, officially launching the domestic football calendar in South Africa.
