Newcastle United submit improved £30 million to Brentford for DR Congo star Yoane Wissa

Newcastle United continues to push for the acquisition of DR Congo international Yoane Wissa in the current transfer window, improving their bid to facilitate the signing of the attacker.

The 28-year-old Congolese forward, who is eager to join the black-and-whites before the start of the upcoming 2025/26 football campaign has been dropped from the team.

Newcastle united had their initial bid for Wissa rejected, with Brentford demanding for more before sanctioning the transfer.

However, the Magpies has submitted an improved bid of £30 million, with Brentford currently weighing up the proposal.

The Black and Whites are keen on sealing the deal, with Alexander Isak currently facing an uncertain future at the club.

Isak has refused to sign a new contract with Newcastle, expressing his desire to join Liverpool, prompting Wissa chase.

Last season, Wissa featured in 39 matches across all competitions for Brentford, netting an impressive 20 goals and providing 5 assists.

Yoane Wissa’s current contract with Brentford is expected to elapse next summer. Brentford risk losing the forward free if he is not transferred this summer.
