English Premier League club Newcastle United want to sign Moroccan youngster Talbi

Newcastle United are reportedly preparing a move for Moroccan winger Chemsdine Talbi ahead of the summer transfer window, with interest also coming from Aston Villa and Brighton & Hove Albion.

The 20-year-old joined Sunderland AFC in July 2025 from Club Brugge in a deal worth $23 million. Since his arrival, he has featured in 23 Premier League matches this season, registering four goals and one assist as he continues to grow into his role.

Sunderland are understood to be open to selling the winger for the right price, with reports suggesting a valuation between $45 million and $55 million ahead of a possible move in the summer of 2026.

Newcastle view Talbi as a potential long-term replacement for Anthony Gordon, who has been linked with a high-profile switch to Manchester United in a deal reportedly worth $80 million.

Talbi also gained valuable international experience after being part of Morocco’s squad that lifted the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where he made one appearance during the competition. His involvement in a title-winning campaign at such a young age has further strengthened his development.

Newcastle’s pursuit of the Moroccan international aligns with the club’s long-term strategy of recruiting emerging talents with high potential. Talbi is seen as a player capable of adding pace, creativity and attacking dynamism to the squad.

With his rapid rise in European football and growing influence on the international stage, Talbi is increasingly being regarded as one of the most exciting young prospects in African football.
