Bazoumana Touré to join Newcastle United

Newcastle United have reportedly struck an agreement with TSG 1899 Hoffenheim to sign highly rated Ivorian winger Bazoumana Touré in a deal worth around €50 million.

The 20-year-old is expected to travel to Tyneside in the coming days to undergo a medical examination and complete the formalities of what could become one of Newcastle’s most significant signings of the summer transfer window.

Touré would become the club’s second arrival of the window, following the earlier signing of goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen as the Magpies continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.

The move is also seen as a direct response to the departure of Anthony Gordon, who left St James’ Park earlier in the transfer window to join FC Barcelona, leaving a notable gap on the left flank.

Newcastle have moved quickly to secure a replacement, identifying Touré as one of the most promising young attacking talents in European football following his rapid rise in Germany.

The Ivorian only joined Hoffenheim in February 2025 in a deal worth approximately €16 million, but his development has accelerated sharply since arriving in the Bundesliga.

In total, he made 45 appearances for the German club, contributing five goals while also impressing with his pace, direct dribbling, and ability to stretch opposition defences.

His performances reportedly attracted interest from several top European sides, but Newcastle have acted decisively to secure his signature ahead of their rivals.

For Hoffenheim, the transfer represents a significant profit on a player they had only recently acquired, highlighting Touré’s rapid rise in value and reputation.

At Newcastle, expectations will be high as the club continues to build a squad capable of competing both domestically and in European competition, with Touré viewed as a long-term attacking solution.

If the deal is completed as expected, he will join Eddie Howe’s side as they prepare for a new campaign with renewed ambition and attacking depth.
