Papiss Cissé Undergoes Successful Surgery After Knee Injury
Senegalese striker Papiss Cissé has successfully undergone surgery on his fractured kneecap following his injury during the match against Swansea. The operation, which took place in Paris, was confirmed as successful by his club, Newcastle United.
After the surgery, Cissé will begin his recovery at Clairefontaine, the French national team’s training facility, before returning to Newcastle.
The injury comes at the end of a difficult season for Cissé, who is expected to leave Newcastle after a disappointing 2013-2014 campaign. The future of the Senegalese forward is uncertain as he looks to recover and possibly seek a new club for the next chapter of his career.
