NEWCASTLE’S MOUSSA SISSOKO DOUBTFUL FOR MANCHESTER UNITED CLASH
Newcastle United may have to face Manchester United on Saturday without Moussa Sissoko, who is recovering from an adductor injury sustained during the Magpies’ second-day match against Swansea.
While initial concerns suggested a more serious issue, assistant manager Paul Simpson offered a more optimistic update on Thursday via the club’s official website:
“When he came off, we thought it was a serious injury. But he had a scan earlier this week and the news is very positive,” Simpson said.
Despite the encouraging prognosis, Sissoko remains uncertain for the weekend trip to Old Trafford:
“He wants to play at Old Trafford. If he gets a chance, he wants to be taken. But it might still be a bit early for him to come back.”
Newcastle fans will be hoping for a late boost as the team prepares for one of the season’s toughest away fixtures.
