Newbridge Town bring in dual-national winger Isaiah Phillips from Johnstown FC

Irish-Nigerian winger Isaiah Phillips has joined Newbridge Town from Johnstown FC on a free transfer, completing the move on 25 August 2026.

Phillips, 22, arrives as a left winger and becomes a Newbridge Town player for the 2026-27 season. The move takes him into the National League after his short spell with Johnstown FC, which began in July.

Born in Navan, Meath, Phillips has represented both Ireland and Nigeria at nationality level. He is predominantly right-footed and operates from the left side of the attack.

Johnstown FC was the latest stop in a sequence of moves for Phillips. He joined the club from Glenville on 14 July 2026, also on a free transfer, before switching to Newbridge Town only a few weeks later.

His time at Glenville followed a free transfer from DUFC on 26 September 2025. Phillips had joined DUFC from Ballymun United in January 2025, having moved to that club from Kentstown Rovers the previous August.

Phillips began that run of senior club changes after a spell without a club. He joined Kentstown Rovers on 27 May 2024 after leaving that period behind, having previously been with Home Farm. His earlier move to Home Farm came from OMP United in January 2023, also without a transfer fee.

The transfer gives Newbridge Town a player with experience across several Irish clubs and adds another option to their attack. Phillips’ arrival is his second club move of the 2026-27 campaign, following his switch from Glenville to Johnstown FC.

His recorded competitive appearance for the current season comes in the FAI Cup, while his new club is listed in the National League. No contract expiry date has been announced for his time at Newbridge Town.

Phillips now continues his career with Newbridge Town, having made the move from Johnstown FC without a fee.
