New Morocco coach Mohamed Ouahbi to retain Omar Harraq as goalkeeping coach after request from Bono
New Morocco national football team head coach Mohamed Ouahbi has reportedly adjusted one of his early decisions after a request from goalkeeper Yassine Bounou.
Ouahbi recently took charge of the national team following the departure of Walid Regragui from the Atlas Lions’ technical bench. As he begins shaping his backroom staff, the coach has so far confirmed only one member of his assistant technical team, appointing Joao Sacramento as his assistant.
However, reports suggest that Ouahbi is now close to retaining Omar Harraq as the national team’s goalkeeping coach. According to Radio Mars, the decision was influenced by Bounou, who currently plays for Saudi side Al-Hilal.
The station cited sports presenter Aziz Al-Qablawi of the Al-Merrikh sports programme, who spoke about the goalkeeper’s request regarding Harraq’s future with the team.
Al-Qablawi added, “Wahbi was planning to bring in a new coach for the Lions’ goalkeepers, but he backed down from his position after Bono’s request, and decided to keep Al-Harraq.”
