Didier Drogba continues to make headlines not just for his footballing prowess, but also for his off-the-pitch humanitarian efforts. The Chelsea striker has been honored with the Barclays Spirit of the Game Award, a prestigious recognition awarded by the official sponsor of the Premier League to players who demonstrate remarkable commitment to social causes globally.
Drogba was celebrated for the impactful work of the Didier Drogba Foundation, which has been active since 2012, particularly in Côte d’Ivoire. The foundation focuses on improving healthcare access and living conditions for vulnerable communities. A major milestone was recently achieved with the inauguration of a hospital in Abidjan, aimed at making medical care accessible to disadvantaged populations.
Additionally, Drogba hosted his fourth fundraising gala, raising funds for medical equipment and the construction of three new health centers in other Ivorian cities.
