Netherlands beat Serbia again to stay top as Greece hold Germany

The Netherlands moved to eight points at the top of Group B in the UEFA Nations League after beating Serbia 2-1 in the fourth round of fixtures.

Teun Koopmeiners and Joshua Zirkzee scored for the Netherlands, while Mihailo Svetkovic replied for Serbia.

The result leaves the Netherlands level on points with Greece, who remain second on goal difference.

Koopmeiners opened the scoring in the 31st minute with a direct free-kick into the Serbia goal.

Serbia responded four minutes later when Mihailo Svetkovic converted a chance created by Aleksa Terzic to make it 1-1.

The Netherlands restored their lead in the 72nd minute. Zirkzee followed up Tijjani Reijnders’ cross on the goal-line to put his side back in front.

The Netherlands held on to secure another victory over Serbia and remain unbeaten in the group standings.

Virgil van Dijk also marked his 100th appearance for the Netherlands during the match.

In the other Group B fixture, Germany were held to a goalless draw by Greece.

The results leave the Netherlands and Greece level on eight points, with the Netherlands first on goal difference. Germany are third with five points, while Serbia have no points.
