Nedbank Cup: TS Galaxy to face Milford FC, Durban City takes on Casric Stars in semifinals
The stage is set for an exciting climax to this season’s Nedbank Cup after last night’s semi-final draw, which could produce either an all-National First Division final or an all-Betway Premiership showdown.
Two National First Division sides, Casric Stars and Milford FC, have been paired against the remaining top-flight clubs, TS Galaxy and Durban City, respectively, in the final four of South Africa’s premier knockout competition.
TS Galaxy will face Milford FC, while Durban City takes on Casric Stars. Victory for either NFD side would set up a historic first-ever all-lower division final, a scenario that Milford FC coach Dr Xanti Pupuma is particularly excited about. Pupuma emphasized that such a final would be a chance to create history and showcase the quality and determination of lower-league sides.
“An all-PSL final would deliver top-level football, but for us, it’s about making history in this competition,” Pupuma said.
The stakes are high, as last season’s trophy was claimed by Kaizer Chiefs, and the remaining sides are all determined to etch their names into the history books.
With the semi-finals pitting lower-division sides against seasoned Premiership clubs, fans can expect an intriguing mix of David vs. Goliath encounters, drama, and potential upsets. Whether it’s an all-NFD final or an all-PSL clash, the Nedbank Cup promises excitement and memorable football in the coming weeks.
