Nduka Junior: SC Delhi linked with Al-Najaf defender

Nduka Junior, the 23-year-old Nigerian centre-back at Al-Najaf FC, has been linked with a move to Indian Super League club SC Delhi.

The rumour emerged on 14 September, with Junior’s future at the Iraqi club reportedly attracting interest from India. No transfer fee or agreement has been given, and the proposed move remains unconfirmed.

Junior joined Al-Najaf on 29 January 2026 after leaving Erbil SC. He had moved to Erbil from Nigerian club Remo Stars in August 2025, following a spell in which he helped Remo Stars win the Nigerian championship in the 2024-25 season.

The defender has played 24 matches in the Iraq Stars League, registering one assist. He also has experience in continental competition, having appeared in both the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup during his career.

Junior began his senior career with Remo Stars after progressing from the club’s youth set-up. Across his NPFL appearances, he has recorded 121 matches, six goals and five assists.

His current market value is listed at €150,000. Junior is described as a right-footed centre-back and was born in Lagos on 1 August 2003. The proposed switch to SC Delhi would represent a move from Iraqi football to the Indian Super League, but his immediate status remains that of an Al-Najaf player.
