Nduka Junior: Raja Casablanca eye move for Nigerian defender from Al-Najaf FC

Nigerian centre-back Nduka Junior of Al-Najaf FC is attracting interest from Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca as the Botola Pro Inwi side weigh up a move for the 22-year-old.

Raja are monitoring the Lagos-born defender as they look to strengthen their options at the back, with Junior’s current estimated value around €150,000 potentially making him an attainable target. No agreement is understood to be in place, but the Casablanca club are considering whether to formalise their interest.

Junior only joined Iraqi Premier League side Al-Najaf in January 2026 from Erbil SC, where he moved in August 2025 after leaving Nigerian club Remo Stars. His quick rise through two clubs in less than a year has put him on the radar of teams outside Iraq following a consistent run of performances.

The right-footed centre-back has already built up significant senior experience despite his age, registering over 120 appearances in the Nigerian Professional Football League for Remo Stars before moving abroad. He also featured in continental competition for the club, including the CAF Champions League, where he contributed both a goal and an assist.

Junior was part of the Remo Stars side that won the Nigerian league title in the 2024-25 season, a campaign that helped establish his reputation before his switch to the Middle East.

Al-Najaf signed him midway through the 2025-26 campaign and, with no publicly known contract end date, the Iraqi club are expected to hold a strong position in any potential negotiations should Raja Casablanca move beyond initial interest.
