National Bank of Egypt rule out Osama Faisal departure amid Al Ahly and Pyramids FC interest

National Bank of Egypt president Ashraf Nassar says there is no intention for striker Osama Faisal to leave the club during the current summer transfer window, despite earlier interest from Al Ahly and Pyramids FC.

Faisal’s future had attracted attention after both Egyptian clubs were reported to be interested in signing him. However, Nassar has made clear that the 25-year-old remains part of National Bank of Egypt’s plans and is not currently available for transfer.

“Osama Faisal, the team’s striker, will continue with National Bank of Egypt and there is no intention for him to leave the team during the current transfer window,” Nassar told FilGoal.com.

The striker still has one year remaining on his contract, which is due to expire in the summer of 2027. His current agreement therefore means he is contracted to National Bank of Egypt beyond the ongoing transfer window, while the club’s president has also directly dismissed the possibility of his departure at this stage.

Faisal played 32 matches for National Bank of Egypt in all competitions during the previous season. He scored 10 goals in the league and contributed to four further goals.

His performances formed part of a campaign in which National Bank of Egypt finished third in the relegation group with 48 points. The club’s position in that group was the final league outcome recorded for the previous season.

Al Ahly and Pyramids FC had both shown interest in adding Faisal to their squads earlier in the summer. National Bank of Egypt’s latest statement, however, indicates that the striker is expected to remain with his current club rather than move to either side during the current transfer period.

Pyramids FC are also seeking to replace Congolese forward Fiston Mayele, whose contract ended at the conclusion of the season. The club have also lost Marwan Hamdy following his move to Iraqi club Al-Karmah.

Those departures have contributed to Pyramids FC’s interest in strengthening their attacking options, but Nassar’s comments suggest that Faisal will not be the player used to fill that need at present.

The statement was issued on Monday, 10 August 2026, with National Bank of Egypt maintaining that the striker will continue with the club. For now, Faisal’s contract, his role in the team and the club’s public position all point towards him staying in place through the current summer transfer window.
