Nathan Ngoumou’s season ends early after injury setback
Nathan Ngoumou will not play again this season for Borussia Mönchengladbach, as his hoped-for late comeback has been pushed back to the next campaign.
According to Rheinische Post, the winger will miss the final Bundesliga match against TSG Hoffenheim on Saturday and is effectively done for 2025/26.
The 26-year-old is still dealing with the after-effects of a healed Achilles tendon rupture and has struggled to build full match fitness. On top of that, he has been bothered by recurring minor muscle problems, which led the coaching staff to spare him from full training again on Tuesday. Those ongoing issues have made it impossible for Ngoumou to get the rhythm he needs to return safely to competitive action.
Already last weekend, Ngoumou was not considered an option for either the first team or the U23s, underlining how cautious the club is being with his recovery. The focus is now firmly on getting him fully fit for pre-season so he can attack the new campaign without physical setbacks. For Ngoumou, that means accepting a frustrating early end to the current season but also gaining the time his body clearly needs to heal properly.
