Nathan Ngoumou’s return to the starting XI after recovering from a thigh injury proved a masterstroke for Borussia Mönchengladbach in their thrilling 2-1 victory over VfB Stuttgart.
The French winger made an immediate impact, netting the opening goal in the 25th minute.
Gladbach head coach Gerardo Seoane was quick to highlight Ngoumou’s significant contribution. “Nathan showed in Stuttgart which strengths he can bring to the team. He is a player at an extreme pace,” Seoane said. “He is a young player who has taken important steps in the past year and a half.”
Ngoumou was deployed on the right wing, replacing Tomáš Čvančara, who had featured in the last three matches. Seoane expressed confidence in Ngoumou’s potential, emphasizing, “We are convinced of Nathan’s qualities.” However, he also noted the player’s room for growth, particularly in finishing: “If he increases his efficiency, he will score many goals for us in the future.”
