Nasser Mansi has returned to full team training with Zamalek ahead of Wednesday’s Egyptian Premier League meeting with Al Mokawloon Al Arab.
The striker took part in Monday’s session at the auxiliary pitch of Air Defence Stadium, as Zamalek continued preparations for the eighth-round fixture, which kicks off at 20:00.
Mansi completed the physical exercises and tactical work alongside his team-mates without any reported restrictions. His return followed a decision by head coach Moataz Gamal, made in coordination with football director Abdel Nasser Mohamed, after the player complied with the disciplinary sanction imposed on him in the previous period.
The sanction followed Zamalek’s first-leg match against Rwanda Army in the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
Zamalek resumed training on Monday evening after the players were given Sunday off. The rest day came after the club defeated Rwanda Army to qualify for the group stage of the CAF Champions League.
Players who started that match completed recovery exercises during Monday’s session. Gamal and his coaching staff opted for the programme to reduce the risk of fatigue before the league game against Al Mokawloon Al Arab.
Before training began, Gamal held a meeting with the squad and told the players to put the Champions League campaign to one side. He stressed the need for full concentration in training as Zamalek seek to continue their winning run in the league.
The manager also outlined several tactical details for the players to work on during the session as preparations continued for Wednesday’s match.
Zamalek are third in the Egyptian Premier League table with 16 points. Al Mokawloon Al Arab are seventh on 11 points.
