Ahmed Suleiman, a member of Zamalek Club’s board of directors, expressed his disappointment over Nasser Maher’s exit from the club following the midfielder’s move to Pyramids FC.
Pyramids confirmed Maher’s signing during the current winter transfer window, marking the end of his nearly two-year stint with Zamalek.
Speaking to MBC Egypt, Suleiman said, “I was responsible for bringing Nasser Maher to Zamalek, and I was deeply saddened by his departure.”
He also clarified that the board of directors did not make the decision for Maher to leave the club.
Suleiman revealed that Maher personally reached out to thank him before leaving, acknowledging his role in facilitating the move to Zamalek.
He added that when he asked Maher whether the board had been involved in the decision, Maher responded that his only contact at the club was John Edward.
“The person in charge of football at Zamalek is John Edward along with two other officials,” Suleiman stated.
He went on to explain that there is a contract between Zamalek and John Edward, who serves as the club’s main football representative.
