As announced earlier today, Yohan Cabaye’s move to PSG is rapidly approaching. The confirmation came from Nasser Al Khelaifi, the club’s president, in an interview with L’Equipe set to be published on Wednesday. Al Khelaifi expressed his admiration for the French midfielder, citing three main reasons for the club’s decision to sign him.
“Firstly, Cabaye is a very talented player who we find highly interesting. Secondly, although I haven’t met him personally, I’ve heard he’s a genuinely nice person. And thirdly, his French nationality holds significant importance for us at PSG, as we aim to bolster our roster with French players and reinforce our presence in the French Championship.”
Despite being scheduled to play a league match with Newcastle this evening, Cabaye departed from his teammates this morning, bound for Paris to undergo a medical examination. Upon completion, he is expected to sign a contract lasting three and a half years, for a reported fee of €20 million, with the potential for bonuses totaling up to €3 million, payable to Newcastle.
