Nasser al-Khelaifi, the president of PSG, holds significant aspirations for his club, despite its challenging start to the competition. In an interview with Le Parisien, he expressed confidence and discussed various aspects of the team’s situation.
Here are excerpts from the interview:
“It’s not easy to build a team. The players, moreover, are not all at the same level of form. There has never been the same eleven twice. We must be patient. It’s not a great start, that’s for sure. We would have preferred a better beginning. When this team plays together in two or three games, it will be much better!”
“Doubts about Carlo Ancelotti? We have one of the best coaches in the world, if not the best. Honestly, for me, he’s a fantastic coach! But he needs time. He could not field the same team twice in a row. Building a team is not just about buying players. That’s not enough to win either. But I’m really confident.”
“The incident between Ibrahimovic and Nene this week in training? It’s normal! This is a positive sign, which shows competitive training. If a player wants to win a match, he must already want to win in training. If there are only friends in training, they will not win in matches. The most important thing is their relationship outside. They talked, and everything is fine. There is no tension. They are world-class players. Ibrahimovic has played for the biggest clubs in the world. He’s a great person.”
“I dream of PSG being one of the best teams in Europe; I dream big. This is also the club’s slogan. And one day, to win the Champions League.”
