Nasreddine Nabi has confirmed that he is in advanced negotiations with Raja Casablanca over the club’s head coach position following the dismissal of Fadlu Davids.

The Tunisian coach, speaking to Le Site Info Sport, acknowledged that discussions between both parties are progressing towards a potential agreement.

“There are advanced negotiations. The deal is in the final stages.”

Raja Casablanca have moved to restructure their technical leadership after a run of disappointing results, which culminated in a defeat against Kawkab Marrakech.

That result dropped the Casablanca club to fifth place in the league standings and ultimately led to the departure of South African coach Fadlu Davids.

The timing of the managerial change reflects growing pressure on the club’s hierarchy to stabilise performances and reassert their position in domestic competition.

Nabi, who is well known across African football, brings a strong coaching résumé that has made him an attractive candidate for the role.

His experience on the continent includes success at multiple clubs and in different leagues, enhancing his reputation as a disciplined and tactically astute manager.

He previously guided TP Mazembe to victory in the CAF Confederation Cup, before achieving domestic success in Tanzania with Young Africans, where he secured a league and cup double.

More recently, he led AS FAR to a runner-up finish in the Botola during the 2023/2024 season, narrowly missing out on the title.

He also ended a decade-long trophy drought for Kaizer Chiefs in South Africa by winning the national cup, further strengthening his standing in African football management.

Raja Casablanca’s interest in Nabi is seen as part of a wider effort to restore stability and competitiveness at the club following recent setbacks. With discussions now at an advanced stage, a final decision could be reached soon as both sides work towards an agreement.

For Raja, the appointment of an experienced figure with continental pedigree would mark a significant step in their bid to recover form and return to the top end of the table.
