Nasreddine Nabi confirms approach from Etoile Sportive du Sahel after Kaizer Chiefs exit

Outgoing Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has disclosed that he has already been courted by another club just days after his surprise departure from Naturena.

News of Nabi’s exit broke earlier this week, stunning many South African football fans.

Chiefs subsequently issued a statement confirming his absence but stopped short of outlining his future plans, merely stating that talks were ongoing between the coach and the club’s hierarchy.

While Chiefs framed the development as part of “ongoing discussions,” Nabi himself maintained that his departure was by mutual consent.

Speaking to winwin.com, the former AS FAR Rabat tactician revealed that Tunisian heavyweights Etoile Sportive du Sahel had reached out to him soon after his departure from Amakhosi.

The North African side were keen to lure him back to his homeland to take charge of the club.

“It’s true. There have been contacts from parties within the Etoile Sportive du Sahel management, and I appreciate this great club and its large fan base,” Nabi confirmed.

However, he made it clear that he is not ready to return to Tunisia at this stage of his career.

“I don’t want to undertake a coaching experience in Tunisia at the moment. Etoile Sportive du Sahel is a well-established club and I respect it greatly, but the timing isn’t right for me,” he added.

Nabi’s decision will fuel speculation about his next move after a brief but eventful stint at Kaizer Chiefs, where he was tasked with rebuilding the club’s fortunes.
