Napoli’s plan to poach English-Ghanaian Kobbie Mainoo from Manchester United revealed
Italian Champions SSC Napoli are reportedly ready to go all out to secure the services of English-Ghanaian midfielder Kobbie Mainoo in the January transfer window, be it a loan or a permanent deal.
Napoli are currently facing a midfield crisis due to injuries to Stanislav Lobotka and, most recently, Kevin De Bruyne.
In addition, André-Frank Zambo Anguissa is set to depart in December to represent Cameroon at the Africa Cup of Nations, further depleting their options in the middle of the park.
As a result, strengthening the midfield has become a top priority for the Partenopei, with Mainoo emerging as the club’s primary target.
The 20-year-old has struggled for consistent minutes at Manchester United this season, making seven Premier League appearances, mostly from the bench, for a total of just 138 minutes.
According to reports, Napoli are preparing a €5 million loan offer with a buy option valued between €20 million and €25 million plus bonuses.
However, it remains unclear whether Manchester United will sanction a move at those figures, having valued the highly-rated youngster at €40 million just a few months ago.
Napoli see Mainoo as a long-term investment and are ready to test United’s resolve in January.
