Napoli set €20m asking price for Romelu Lukaku

Napoli are ready to part ways with Romelu Lukaku this summer, placing a €20 million price tag on the Belgian striker as they prepare a reshuffle in attack.

His season has been badly hit by recurring hamstring and muscle injuries, restricting him to just seven outings and barely more than an hour on the pitch, making it impossible for him to build any real momentum.

With Rasmus Højlund already signed on a permanent deal, Napoli have clearly shifted their long-term focus up front, and Lukaku now looks surplus to Antonio Conte’s plans. With just over a year left on his contract, the club see a sale as a sensible way to rebalance both the squad and the wage bill.

Contacts have reportedly been made with AC Milan and Inter Milan, but neither side is currently pushing to sign him, even though Lukaku would prefer to stay in Italy. That has reopened the door to the Premier League, where he previously played for Chelsea, Manchester United, Everton and West Brom, and last featured in 2022.

His camp are already sounding out English clubs, though any deal will hinge on his fitness and how the transfer fee and salary package are structured around the €20m valuation.
