Napoli contract talks with Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa stall over wage demands

Negotiations between Napoli and Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa have reached an impasse, with the two parties unable to agree on the Cameroon midfielder’s salary.

Anguissa is understood to be seeking almost €6m a year, according to Ekrem Konur. That figure is around €2.4m higher than the proposal currently being considered by Napoli, leaving a significant gap between the player’s demands and the club’s offer.

The disagreement has prevented discussions over a contract extension from making further progress. Anguissa’s current deal with the Partenopei runs until 2027, meaning he could leave as a free agent in the summer of that year if no agreement is reached.

The 30-year-old’s situation is attracting interest from other clubs, with Inter Milan among those monitoring developments closely. The Lombardy club could consider making a move if Anguissa becomes available without a transfer fee at the end of his contract.

Anguissa’s market value is estimated at €15m by Transfermarkt. He currently earns an annual salary of €3,460,000 in Italy, equivalent to 2,249,000,000 FCFA.

Napoli are next scheduled to face Frosinone in the sixth round of the Italian championship.
