Nantes Defender Issa Cissokho Opens Up on Marseille Interest and Contract Future
FC Nantes right-back Issa Cissokho has confirmed Olympique de Marseille showed interest in him during the summer, but admits no formal offer was made.
Speaking to Presse-Océan, the 29-year-old Senegal international expressed his appreciation for the recognition, saying:
“OM? There was interest. But I never received anything concrete. When a club like Marseille shows interest in you, it’s always a pleasure. Considering my career path, which hasn’t been easy, being linked with a club like that means something.”
Cissokho, whose current contract runs until 2016, also made it clear that he does not intend to extend his stay at the Stade de la Beaujoire.
His future now appears open, with speculation likely to continue as the season progresses, especially if Marseille or other Ligue 1 clubs return with more concrete offers.
